San Diego Ladies Hiking, Walking & More Club Steps Up

The club delivered in a big way for teens at El Nido.

The San Diego Ladies Hiking, Walking and More group can boast of a strong community of ladies. Yet their strength is not limited to their numbers or their weekly activities of hiking, biking, and kayaking. This group is strong in character, as revealed in their generosity.

Their holiday gift drive activity for this year raised more than $1,500 for the teens at El Nido. They donated $1,145 in gifts for the teens and $400 in cash. El Nido is one of the very few domestic violence transitional housing programs that welcomes teens and teen boys specifically. The San Diego Ladies Hiking group made sure this particular population felt seen, included, and blessed this holiday season.

"It was a very heartwarming and joyous thing for our group," said Kathryn Ruiz, a co-admin of the group. "I hope to make it annual from now on."

ISN and the El Nido staff are incredibly grateful to Kathryn and Mylinh, who helped deliver the items, as well as the group's founder Michella Puma, and all of the ladies who have made this a very special holiday season for the teens at El Nido.

Thank you, San Diego Ladies Hiking, Walking and More!
